Photography in its entire range, from portrait and paparazzi photography to journalistic photography, played an important role here. Seven artists present their individual interpretation of this theme – in the media painting, drawing, watercolour, and photography.

In these different modes of expression, celebrities from the worlds of culture, politics, and the world of comics. If somebody is repeatedly visually represented in the media, he or she gains celebrity status in his/her own social context, and if that is reproduced over generations, s/he can become a cult figure.
